FAQs
Questions we are asked every week.
Direct answers, including where the answer depends on your goods. If yours is not here, the desk will answer it in one call.
With a complete file and duty funded, most declarations are accepted on the day of discharge and released within twenty-four hours. Examinations, valuation queries and missing documents add days, not hours. The single biggest variable is whether the invoice, packing list and bill of lading agree with each other before the vessel arrives.
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, and the importer's TIN and business registration. Depending on the goods you may also need a permit from the regulator, for example the FDA, the Minerals Commission or the Standards Authority. We confirm the permit requirement at quotation, so it does not surface at the counter.
Yes. Send the invoice and we will return a written computation: CIF value, classification, duty, NHIL, GETFund, VAT and applicable levies. It is an estimate until Customs assesses the entry, but a well-prepared computation is usually within a small margin, and you will know the exposure before you commit.
Yes. Export work covers booking, origin documentation, certificates of origin and the GRA export declaration. Import work covers classification, declaration, examination attendance, duty payment and release. Many clients use both directions with us on a single account.
Consolidation means sharing a container with other shippers' cargo and paying for the space you use, rather than for a whole box. For shipments under roughly fifteen cubic metres it is usually cheaper than a dedicated container. Transit time can be slightly longer because the container waits for the full load, so it suits planned replenishment better than urgent cargo.
Use the reference on your booking confirmation on the tracking page. It shows the latest confirmed milestone, the route and the estimated arrival. Milestones are published when they are confirmed by the terminal, the carrier or our desk, not when they are expected.
Yes. Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and the northern corridor are routine, as is bonded transit to landlocked neighbours. Heavy, out-of-gauge and project cargo is quoted individually after a route survey. Proof of delivery is returned the same day.
We operate an integrated management system certified by AFNOR to ISO 9001:2015 (quality) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety), audited annually. Certificates are available on request, and we are happy to walk you through the procedures that affect your file.

The useful answer is a landed cost and a date.
Send us the invoice, the packing list and the destination. We will price the shipment and tell you when it can realistically land.
